District land office Receivers were responsible for all financial transactions relating to the sale of public lands. These accounts record the amount of cash on hand, deposits in local banks and the weekly balance at the Lebanon and Mardisville Land Office, 1837 Oct. - 1848 July. These records document the business aspects of public land sales and the work of the Receiver of Public Monies. The Mardisville Land Office was moved to Lebanon in 1842.
